Thinclads Get Back On Track

ESTHERVILLE – After being shut out by the weather, the Emmetsburg E’Hawks got a chance to get back on the track Friday in a special triangular at Estherville Lincoln Central with Spencer. No team scoring was kept in the event.

Several first place finishes were recorded by the E’Hawks, starting with a first in the shot put from Jordan Mathisen with a throw of 49’7“. Trevor Dettmann took first in the 110 high hurdles with a :15.11 effort and Ethan Dykstra won the 400 hurdles with a 1:01.67 clocking.

The E’Hawk Shuttle hurdle relay, with Jake Vaughan, Justin DeFord, Trevor Dettmann and Ethan Dykstra, was first with a 1:02.18 time, while the 4×200 relay, with Bobby Mortenson, Tommy Kuecker Justin DeFord and Mitch Wagner, took first with a 1:38.30 and the Medley relay, with Tommy Kuecker, Mitch Wagner, Bobby Mortenson and Bobby Gappa, was first in a time of 4:10.79.

Mitch Wagner took second in the 100 meter dash with a :11.77 time, while Keaton Carter took second in the 400 meter dash with a :56.83 time. Ethan Dykstra was second in the 110 high hurdles with a :15.70 time and Allen Dunnick took second in the 1600 meter run in a time of 5:35.00.

The 4×100 relay, with Langston Jones, Mitch Wagner, Jake Vaughan and Ethan Dykstra, took second place with a :47.71 clocking and the 4×400 meter relay with Bobby Mortenson, Tommy Kuecker, Justin DeFord and Keaton Carter, took second in a time of 3:56.73.

Josh Wolfe took third in the discus by throwing 124’4″, while Jared Janssen claimed third in the high jump, clearing 5’6“. Trevor Dettmann earned third in the long jump, as he jumped 18’1.5”.

Jared Janssen finished fourth in the 400 meter dash with his time of 1:01.55 and JC Rezabek earned sixth place in the shot put, throwing the shot 43’11.75” to round out the placings.

Other efforts included Lucas Thomsen with a discus throw of 107′ and Bobby Gappa jumping 15’4.50″ in the long jump. Lucas Thomsen threw the shot put 43’5” and Josh Wolfe came away with a shot toss of 37’11”.

The JV 4×200 relay, with Kyle Elbert, Langston Jones, Matt Fandel and Cory Schultes, turned in a time o f 1:44.30, while the JV 4×100 relay, with Travis Ring, Justin Firkins, Matt Fandel and Florian Hoese, turned in a :54.70 time. The JV 4×400 relay, with Jared Janssen, Kyle Elbert, Bobby Gappa and cory Schultes, finished with a 4:14.85 time.

In the 200 meter dash, Florian Hoese ran a : 29.70, while Trevor Harson ran a :28.85. Keaton Carter ran a :34.84, while Trevor Dettmann turned in a :25.01 and Travis Ring had a :27.20 clocking.

In the 400 meter dash, Jake Vaughan finished with a 1:05.89, while Justin Firkins ran a 1:13.09 and Austin Oppenheimer finished in 1:11.39.

Rounding out the efforts for the E’Hawks was Allen Dunnick in the 800 meter run, finishing in a time of 2:33.73.
