Lady E’Hawks Run At LeMars Invite

LEMARS – Emmetsburg’s Lady E’Hawks finished fourth at the LeMars Invite on Monday and set several personal and relay bests on the year.

Alex Lock won the shot put with a 33’4” throw and Hillary Pico threw 26’10”. In the discus, Katelyn Schany was fourth with a throw of 84’10” and Nichole Hasbrouck threw 84’6″ to place fifth.

Jaimee Kerber took third in the long jump, jumping 15’2” and Katie Malm was fourth with a jump of 14’1″. Morgan Vlasman cleared 4’4 in the high jump to finish tied for third.

The Shuttle Hurdle Relay, with Nicole Leuer, Katie Malm, Bailee Moore and Kayla Herbers won the event with a 1:09.57 effort and the Distance Medley, with Bailee Moore, Maddison woodruff, Blake Schany and Molli Schmeling, took fourth place in 4:53.30.

The varsity 4×200, with Jaimee Kerber, Teanna Leebens, Mollie Smith and Kayla Herbers was fifth in 1:54.57. The JV 4×200, with Kaitlin Wesibrod, Jordan Morris, Nichole Hasbrouck and Maddison Woodruff, was second with a 2:03.72

In the 100 hurdles, Nicole Leuer was second in :16.86 and Baliee Moore was fourth in :17.38. Tacee Leebens took fifth in the 800 meter dash with a 2:46.70 and in the 200 meter dash, Mollie Smith took sixth with a :29.16, while Morgan Vlasman turned in a :30.51 time.

The Sprint Medley, with Jordan Kerber, Katie Malm, Jaimee Kerber and Kayla Herbers ran a 1:58.23 and the 4×100 relay, with Jordan Kerber, Katie Malm, Maddison Woodruff and Jaimee Kerber rand a :5.54. The JV 4×100 relay, with Mollie Smith, Nichole Hasbrouck, Alisha Dunnick and Nicole Leuer, took first place with a t :55.63 clocking.

Emmetsburg’s 4×400 relay, with Tacee Leebens, Bailee Moore, Teanna Leebens and Kayla Herbers, was first with a time of 4:24.17, while in the 1500 meters, Brenda Tonderum ran a 6:52.41 and Mara Lee rand a 6:57.31, both personal best times.

“the girls got the opportunity to run against some of the top sprinters in the state in Sioux City West and East,” noted Head Coach Jeff Brennan. “The girls can be proud of their efforts on a rather chilly night.”

The Lady E’Hawks will be in action this Friday when they run in the Spencer Invitational.
