Graettinger/Terril Thinclads Open Campaign At CC-E
SPENCER — Graettinger/Terril’s boys and girls track teams competed last Friday at the Clay Central-Everly Relays in Spencer, and came home with several solid efforts.
“It was a very good first meet of the year both with the weather and with our results,” said Graettinger/Terril Head Coach Karlton Hector. “We haven’t had a lot of outdoor practice time, so to see the kids perform this well the first time out was nice to see.”
For the ladies, Amanda Kropf placed second in the discus with a throw of 84’25” and also placed fourth in the shot with a heave of 27’2″.
Lindsay Flaharty claimed second place honors in the 400-meter dash with a 1:09.04 clocking and took third in the 100 meter dash in :14.38. In the 200 meter dash, Flaharty finished third with a :20.82 time.
In the 800 meter run, Amanda Oleson took top honors by finishing with a 2:46.98 to round out the Knights performances.
For the Knight men, Dillon Thiner won first place in the 400 meter dash with a :57.21 time and went on to finish third in the 200 meter dash with a :25.78 clocking.
In the shot put, Joel McGrauth finished third by throwing 39’7“. For the discus, McGrauth earned fourth place with his throw of 80’7”.
Rounding out the efforts for the Knights was Michael Lynch, also competed in the shot put, where he placed fifth with his throw of 39’2″.
