Cornbelt Conference Elite Team Recognitions Announced

Players from West Bend-Mallard, Ruthven-Ayrshire and Graettinger/Terril girls and boys basketball teams have been accorded post-season honors as the basketball seasons conclude. The 2007-2008 Cornbelt Conference All Conference Teams for both girls and boys basketball were announced this week by conference officials.

For West Bend-Mallard, Courtney Laubenthal earned First Team All-Conference honors, while teammates Kayla Hartman and Kari Zinnel were selected to the Second Team All Conference unit. Rounding out the selections for Coach Eugene Ruppert’s squad was Courtney Streit, who was accorded Honorable Mention recognition.

Graettinger/Terril had Theresa Peterson earn a spot on the First Team All Conference team, while teammate Malorie Girres was selected to receive Honorable Mention recognition b the conference coaches.

For Coach Jon Josephson and the Ruthven-Ayrshire Raiders, senior Lynn Geelan was honored with selection to the Second Team All Conference squad by the coaches.

For the Ruthven-Ayrshire Raiders, Tyler Enderson and Andy Rowlands both earned First Team All Conference honors for Head Coach Randy Hough and the Raiders. Brad Geelan was named to the All Conference Second Team and Ryan Hoffman earned Honorable mention Recognition from the conference coaches.

At Graettinger/Terril, Tyler Leiting was selected to a roster position on the First Team All Conference squad, while teammate Cody Dyhrkopp was chosen for a position on the Second Team All Conference squad for his play this season.

The Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard were recognized with the selection of Darin Banwart to a position on the Second team All Conference unit to wrap up the local selections.
