Lady E’Hawks Fall To ELC
ESTHERVILLE – Cold shooting and an aggressive defensive effort spelled trouble for Emmetsburg’s Lady E’Hawks Thursday night at Estherville. The Lady E’Hawks lost a 57-13 decision to the Midgettes of Estherville Lincoln Central in a make-up game from Jan. 18.
The Lady E’Hawks would struggle to get shots off all night long against the quick ELC defense, and trailed 17-6 at the end of the first quarter. ELC would expand their lead to a 27-10 tally at the half time break.
Emmetsburg simply couldn’t find the bucket in the third quarter, as the Midgettes held the Lady E’Hawk starters scoreless on their way to a 49-10 lead to start the final quarter.
Head Coach John Kennedy brought his bench into the game in the final quarter, giving the reserves a chance to see some court time against the potent ELC squad, and got a three pointer from Bridget Rouse before time ran out for the 57-13 final score.
For Emmetsburg Bailee Moore would score four points, while Mollie Smith and Bridget Rouse each scored three points. Kayla Herbers added two points and Molly Clasing made a free throw for one point in the effort.
