Freshmen Boys Earn Win Over ELC

Emmetsburg’s Freshmen boys pushed their record to 5-5 with a 45 to 41 victory over Estherville on Thursday night.

Coach Jeff Brennan’s freshmen boys were led by Bobby Gappa’s 24 points, four steals, and six rebounds in the victory.

Cory Schultes pitched in with 14 points and handed out three assists. Austin Oppenheimer scored three points and was followed by two points apiece for Arthur Heldt and Kory Hagen in the winning effort.

The E’Hawk Freshman “B” team also got some action and came away with a 21-18 overtime win over ELC.

Allen Dunnick and Steven Heddinger led the way with six points apiece. Cory Elbert scored five points in the effort and Tyler Clasing and Dennis Theesfeld each added two points to the winning effort for the young E’Hawks.
