Knights Play Better In Loss
TERRIL –The Knights of Graettinger/Terril played a more sound game in a 56-46 loss to Armstrong-Ringsted Tuesday night.
“I thought our offense showed as good of consistency as we have had this season,” said G/T Co-coach Roger Conway. “We worked hard on defense, but got hurt on the offensive rebounds and threes.”
Armstrong-Ringsted took an early 13-5 lead over he Knights after the first quarter, and held on to the eight-point advantage for a 25-17 margin at the intermission.
But Graettinger/Terril played tough and stuck with it. Only an 11-2 run in the closing moments of the third quarter would tip the scales for AR.
With a 45-28 lead to start the final quarter, the Mustangs put the game away for the 65-46 final.
Graettinger/Terril was paced by Theresa Peterson’s double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Malorie Girres added 16 points. Dakota Hovinga added six points and Amanda Oleson chipped in a bucket for two points.
Dakota Hovinga pulled down six rebounds and three steals for the Knights in the contest.
Graettinger/Terril will host North Sentral Kossuth on Friday.
