Ruthven-Ayrshire Boys Manhandle MMC
RUTHVEN – A quick start held up with the help of some good shooting and solid defense as the Raiders of Ruthven-Ayrshire posted a 90-41 win over Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn in a non-conference boys basketball matchup Saturday night.
Ruthven-Ayrshire jumped out to an early lead and stared hitting on all cylinders, and never had to look back in the contest. Balanced scoring would give the Raiders a chance to run everyone into the contest for some valuable playing experience on their way to the 90-41 victory.
For the Raiders, Andy Rowlands led the way with 26 points, while Carl Jensen added 13. Tyler Enderson chipped in 12 points, with Ryan hoffman added 11 and Ryan Sikora dropping in 10 points. Brad Geelan contributed nine points, while Mark Geelan chipped in six markers. Kyle Simington scored two points and Al Japenga drained a free throw for the final point.
Ryan Hoffman led the defense with nine rebounds, while Cody Zielstra, Brad Geelan and Ryan Sikora all dished out five steals. Ryan Sikora also made four steals on the night.
