E’Hawk Wrestlers Finish Sixth At Bob Siddens Duals

WATERLOO – A trip to Waterloo on Saturday gave the Emmetsburg/Armstrong-Ringsted E’Hawks a 3-1 mark at the end of the day in the Bob Siddens Dual Classic at Waterloo West High School. As the E’Hawks go into the final week of the regular season with a mark of 11-14, with a Lakes Conference dual mark of 6-2.

The E’Hawks will travel to Bode tonight (Tuesday) to meet Twin River Valley and Pocahontas Area and then participate in the Lakes Conference tournament on Friday night at Spencer.

In Saturday’s appearance at the Siddens Classic, the E’Hawks drew a pool assignment that included Denver-Tripoli, Don Bosco and Dubuque Senior. With injuries and other factors, the E’Hawks have been giving up 24 points in every dual through open weights, making it tough to stay close against quality teams, but the E’Hawks continue to wrestle hard.

First Round

The E’Hawks wrestled the titans of Denver-Tripoli in the first match of the day, and came up short in a 50-17 final tally.

To determine final placing, the E’Hawks met the Lions of Marian Linn-Mar for fifth place in the final dual of the day. However, the E’Hawks came up shy, falling by a 49-23 final score to settle for sixth place.
