The Knights were shut out in the first quarter to trail 16-0, but came back against Clay Central-Everly in the second quarter to trail by just three points, 18-15, at the halftime break.
In the third quarter, CC-E edged out to a 32-26 lead over the Knights and then went on to post the 48-31 final victory.
Graettinger/Terril was led by the 11 points of Theresa Peterson and 10 points of Malorie Girres. Liz Sparks added seven points, while Amanda Oleson scored two points and Dakota Hovinga added a free throw for one point.
Malorie Girres snagged eight rebounds and Theresa Peterson came away with three steals in the effort.
“Our defense did an overall good job but we need to become a little more physical and do a better job on blocking out,” noted Co-Coach Roger Conway. “Our offense moved the ball better and found the open girl, too.”
The Knights will see action on Jan. 22 when they host Armstrong-Ringsted at Terril.
