RUTHVEN – Ruthven-Ayrshire’s Lady Raiders lost a 58-29 decision to Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka on Friday night.
The visiting Tigers took a 13-8 lead after the first quarter and slipped out to a 29-21 lead at the intermission. But in the second half, WCLT stretched their lead out to a 44-23 lead after the Raiders only managed to tally two points in the third frame. Ruthven-Ayrshire was held to a half-dozen points in the final quarter as RA fell by a 58-29 final tally.
Chelsey Reed would score 10 points to lead the Raiders’ offensive efforts, while SAdie Forey added seven points. Megan Alexander, Cassidy Smith and Caitlyn Reed all scored four points in the effort.
“Our team put forth a good defensive effort throughout the evening, but WCLT was able to capitalize on the turnovers and other mistakes we made on the offense,”noted RA Head Coach Jon Josephson. “But, we hung in there very well in the first half.”
