Youth Basketball Program To Begin January 5

The Emmetsburg Recreation Department is once again sponsoring it’ annual Boy’s and Girl’s Youth Basketball Program this winter. The program is designed for all boys and girls in third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades.

The youth basketball program will be held on Saturday mornings in the Corrigan Hall Gym and Middle School Gym in Emmetsburg. The program will begin on Saturday, January 5, through February 2.

The girls will meet at the Middle School gym with third and fourth graders practicing from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Fifth and sixth grade girls will practice from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

The boys will meet at the Corrigan Hall on Saturdays, with third and fourth graders practicing from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and the fifth and sixth graders practicing from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

As part of the program, the participants will also play scrimmages during the half time of several Emmetsburg High School basketball games during the winter. Schedules will be handed out on January 5th.

The Youth Basketball Program is designed to teach the basic rules and fundamentals of the game. The Emmetsburg E’Hawk boys varsity basketball team will coach the boys, while members of the Emmetsburg Lady E’Hawk basketball team will coagh the girls participating in the program

There is a $15.00 fee per person to cover expenses of the prgram. This fee is payable to the Emmetsburg Recreation Department.
