E’Hawk Junior Varsity Drop Pair

Emmetsburg’s E’Hawk Junior Varsity boys fell in a pair of league games last week. On Tuesday, the young E’Hawks fell to Western Christian by a 75-33 margin and on Friday, they lost to Sheldon by a 31-23 tally to fall to 3-2 overall on the season.

At Hull, the E’Hawks trailed 17-6 after one quarter and 36-15 at the intermission. At the end of the third quarter, Emmetsburg trailed 53-25 before losing 75-35.

Nate Brown would lead the E’Hawks with 10 points in the loss, while Langston Jones and Brett Wollum both added six points. Cory Schultes and Tommy Kuecker both scored four points, while Nick Wuebker added three points and Scott Smith added two points.

In action on Friday night, the E’Hawks trailed 8-2 at the end of the first quarter of play against Sheldon’s Orabs, and struggled to score, as they trailed 16-8 at the half time break. In the third quarter, Sheldon took a 23-18 lead as the E’Hawks had a little more success with their offense, but in the final quarter, Emmetsburg could only add five points to their total for the 31-23 final score.

Nick Wuebker would lead Emmetsburg’s effort in the loss with his 10 points on the night, while Langston Jones added seven points. Kyle Elbert and Tommy Kuecker both scored two points in the game, while Ben Pelzer and Cory Schultes each added a free throw to round out the scoring.

Coach Phil Geelan’s squad will host LeMars in a JV matchup this Friday evening before the holiday break.
