E’Hawk Junior Varsity Boys Earn Wins

Emmetsburg’s boys junior varsity squad picked up two wins in action last week. On Tuesday, the young E’Hawks edged Storm Lake 58-51, and then defeated Estherville Lincoln Central 41-34 on Friday night to improve to 3-0 on the season.

On Tuesday, the young E’Hawks led 28-25 at the half, before Storm Lake tied the game up at 35-35 to end the third frame. But in the final quarter, the E’Hawks used freethrows to help take the 58-51 win.

Langston Jones led the E’Hawks with 13 points, while Nick Wuebker added 12 points. Brett Wollum had 11 points, while Nae Brown added eight points. Tommy Kuecker scored five points, while Ben Pelzer added four points. Kyle Elbert had three tallies and Scott Smith added two points.

Nick Wuebker and Tommy Kuecker each pulled down seven boards in the win.

On Friday, the E’Hawks led 21-16 at the half and went on to record the 41-34 win over the Midgets.

For the E’Hawks, Nate Brown had 14 points, while Nick Wuebker added 11 points. Brett Wollum had seven points, while Tommy Kuecker added four points. Kyle Elbert and Langston Jones both had two points and Ben Pelzer added a free throw for one point.

Nick Wuebker had eight rebounds and Tommy Kuecker added six boards to the effort.
