Titans Edged For First Setback

NEWELL - A late defensive stop by Newell-Fonda would hand Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire's Titans a 25-22 loss in eight-man football action Friday night. The loss is the Titans' first setback of the season, as they have a bye week to regroup this week with no game scheduled.

The contest would end up as a game dominated by the two quarterbacks, as the Titans' offense was guided by quarterback Jacob Conlon, who would score all three touchdowns for GT/RA in the contest. On the other side of the field, Newell-Fonda quarterback Jesse Haack scored all four of the Mustangs' touchdowns Friday night.

For the Titans, Jacob Conlon would score off a 66-yard touchdown run and a shorter run, and also connected with Jace Naig on a 12-yard touchdown pass to tally the three scores for GT/RA.

Overall, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire would get 228 rushing yards off 21 carries by Jacob Conlon, while Kolton Roth had 11 rushes for 24 yards. Chris Conlon made six carries for 16 yards and Treyton Cacek added one six yard carry to give the Titans 276 rushing yards in the game.

Jacob Conlon completed six of 14 passing attempts for 66 yards, with Jace Naig making three receptions for 37 yards and a score. Tommy Geelan had one catch for 15 yards, while Kolton Roth had an eight-yard reception and Chris Conlon added a six yard reception.

Defensively, the Titans wer led by Kolton Roth with 12 and a half tackles along with an interception, while Shay Royster came away with eight and a half tackles, as well as a quarterback sack. Nate Larson added seven and a half tackles, while Jace Naig had seven stops. Chris Conlon made six and a half tackles and Treyton Cacek added five tackles.
