Emmetsburg News

Emmetsburg Mainstreet Community Theatre announces the cast of upcoming comedy production, "Unnecessary Farce".

Members of the cast are Andy Stolley who will play the role of Eric Sheridan, a police officer; Lori Flynn who will play the role of his partner, Officer Billie Dwyer. Peggy Stolley is cast in the role of Karen Brown, an accountant. Mayor Meekly and his wife, Mary Meekly. will be played by George Van Meter and Cynthia Berkland respectively. Don Joyce is cast in the role of Agent Frank, the head of the town hall security force and Brent McAllister will play the part of Todd, a professional, Scottish, hit man.

"Unnecessary Farce" is a fast paced door slammer. The setting is two adjoining motel rooms. The mayor, suspected of embezzling from the city, is supposed to meet with his female accountant while next door two undercover cops are waiting to catch the meeting on videotape. There's some confusion as to who's in which room, who's being videotaped, who's taken the money and who's hired a hit man.

Mainstreet Theatre will stage this show the first two weekends in April.
