Mary Terveer, 85, of Ayrshire went home to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, in Spencer.
Mary was born in Graettinger to John and Kathleen (Hendricks) McBride on Jan. 14, 1928. She wed Vitus Terveer on Aug. 11, 1947, and was happily married for 66 years.
Mary dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her eight children. She volunteered her time at the Altar Society, but was happiest having coffee with her husband and children on the family farm. She loved her family, her Irish heritage, bird watching, chocolate malts and the Minne- sota Twins.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathleen; her brothers, James, Richard and John, Jr.; and her sisters, Ann, Delores and Catherine.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Vitus J. Terveer; her children: Kathleen (Robert)?Brown, John (Patsy)?Terveer, Roberta Smith, Jerry (Sue)?Terveer, Timothy Terveer, Gregory (Cheri)?Terveer), Jeffrey Terveer and Anthony (Kathy)?Terveer; her brother, Donald (Betty)?McBride; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; 26 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Silver Lake Fire and Rescue.
Mary's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Ayrshire's first responders, the Emmetsburg ambulance team and the wonderful caregivers at the Spencer Hospital.
