The second game in as many nights was a test for the Emmetsburg E-Hawks as they fell to Spencer in Lakes Conference action by a 60-39 final tally. After falling in a non-conference game Monday at Lake Park, the E-Hawks were again without the services of senior Jake Jackson in the contest.
The E-Hawks got out to an early 6-0 start off a pair of three pointers by Michael Pugh and Mike Myers in the early stages of the first quarter, but Spencer would surge back with the two teams trading the lead to the end of the quarter, with Emmetsburg holding the 12-11 advantage.
But in the second, Spencer shook off their cold shooting and began to make a few shots, but the E-Hawks had answers and trailed by a deuce, 28-26, at the intermission.

In the final frame, Emmetsburg struggled to get shots to fall as the Tigers seemingly couldn't miss and would go on to come away with the 60-39 final margin of victory.
For Emmetsburg, Michael Pugh led the offensive effort with 11 points on the night, while Erik Drost added seven points and battled hard defensively under the bucket. Mike Myers chipped in six points along with Aaron Bird, coming off the bench. Austin Krause tallied four points, while Greg Wesley came off the bench for three points and Brandon Elbert added two points.
The E-Hawks will host Storm Lake on Friday.
