Community Members Encouraged To Support County Council on Aging
To the Editor:
I would like to tell the citizens of Palo Alto County of an opportunity to help support the Multipurpose Center. We are in need of persons willing to donate time to a worthwhile organization by becoming a director of the Palo Alto County Council on Aging Board. The Councils’ only purpose is to support the Multipurpose Center.
The Board meets once a month for approximately one hour to discuss center news, plans for the future, improvements for the Multipurpose Center and upcoming fund raisers. We would like to have a representative from all towns in Palo Alto County.
When the coronavirus restrictions are no longer in effect, the Center will again serve congregate meals daily with social activities held each week at the Center. The Center will then be available at a reasonable rent for family reunions, bridal showers, birthday parties, graduations and fund raising events.
Contact Diane Elbert at 852-2659 or our Center Manager, Connie Schubert, at 852-3350 if you are interested in joining us. You can become part of a group that enjoys working together to make the center a better place for the members of the Palo Alto County community.
The Annual Meeting of Palo Alto County Council on Aging will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 12:20 p.m. at the Multipurpose Center at 2008 11th St, Emmetsburg, Iowa. We would like to see interested members of the Palo Alto County community at the meeting.
If you are 18 years old or older, we encourage you to become a member of Palo Alto County Council on Aging and join us in supporting the Multipurpose Center.
