The 2020 Election – Personality Contest or Political Party Platform?

By Staff | Oct 20, 2020

To the Editor:

There seems to be a lot of talk about the personalities of the presidential candidates and voting for or against a candidate because of like or dislike of the candidate’s personality. We need to look beyond the personality issue and look at the platform of each political party. The party platform will determine what issues the winning party will put forth for legislation. The ideology of the political parties we have now is NOT the same ideology they had 40, 30, 20, or even 10 years ago. The full text of each political party’s platform can be found through these websites: www.myfaithvotes.org, www.biblicalvoter.com/major-party-platform-comparisons, and ivoterguide.com.

The Republican Party platform has 67 pages, the Democratic Party platform has 92 pages.

How we vote is not only for what we want to happen now, but for the kind of country we want our children, grandchildren, and great=grandchildren to live in.
