Livestock Project Premium Fund

By Staff | Aug 14, 2020

The 2020 Palo Alto County Fair was held July 14-19 as a 4-H and FFA only event. Youth were able to have their static exhibits evaluated by judges and livestock shows were held on a “show and go” basis with only immediate family in attendance. We would like to thank all families, friends, and the community for their support of opportunities that we were able to provide to the 4-H and FFA youth in our county.

Due to the social distancing requirements, a livestock premium auction was not possible. As an alternative, the fair board started a Livestock Project Premium Fund where any individual or business wanting to donate to the auction had the opportunity to do so. With that, we would like to acknowledge and thank all the businesses and individuals who gave to this fund. All 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors with beef, sheep, swine, and meat goat projects received $230 per specie shown at the fair due to the generosity of these donors. It is our hope that they will continue to support our youth with livestock projects in the future and that others will join them in acknowledging the accomplishments of our 4-H and FFA members.
