Youth Must Have Place, Too

By Staff | Jun 21, 2012

The Community Center, which is proposed for construction at the location of the old country club near Five Island Lake, should be a place for youth and adults alike. It’s a nice location.

Parking for the facility should be located at the east end of the building, and a sidewalk should be poured from the parking lot to the entrance of the community center. The building should have a handicapped accessible entrance on the east end. The east side of the building could be a place for adults to gather for various programs, bridal showers, etc. The room should seat 80 and feature a stage with a piano towards the middle of the room at the south end of the building. It would be wonderful.

A room for youth would be located on the west side of the community center with its own separate entrance. I would like to see the youth have a fun place to gather. The room should contain tables for card and board games, space to put puzzles together, a ping-pong table, and popcorn machine. The room could also be used for youth birthday parties. The youth must have a place, too.
