New Shoots Deserves Your Patronage
To the Editor:
My wife and I spent June 2nd and 3rd in Emmetsburg to attend the celebration of cousin, Father Tom Geelan’s 50th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood.
On our way into town we noticed what seemed to be a really neat looking restaurant called “New Shoots”. After checking into our motel room we decided to check it out for Saturday evening’s dinner.
What a pleasant surprise! The place was very attractively designed with the exposed brick walls and very nicely decorated.
We each had a glass of wine that was very good and very well priced.
The dinner menu offered a nice selection and was also very reasonably priced. My wife ordered the salmon and I ordered the strip steak. The salads were excellent and the main courses were both wonderful and done perfectly. We even ordered dessert which was rich and decadent. The staff was attentive but not intrusive. Our waiter informed us that they also did a Sunday brunch which we came back for Sunday morning and thoroughly enjoyed the great selection and excellent food quality.
My only complaint??Both Saturday evening and Sunday the restaurant was almost empty.
WAKE UP GOOD CITIZENS! This place is a jewel and deserves a full house especially on the weekends. It clearly can not survive on a handful of customers each day.?If I were the management I would already be looking for another town to pack up and move to whose citizens would appreciate them for the fine establishment they are.
I was born and raised in Emmetsburg and came home several times a year for the last 50 years to visit family here in town. This is clearly the nicest dining establishment ever to open its doors in Emmetsburg.
Don’t blow it! It deserves your whole hearted patronage.
