Questions About Drainage District 80
To the Editor:
What is happening to our county employees, especially the Supervisors?
To the Supervisors of
Palo Alto County:
I paid my assessment on drainage district 80 quite some time ago.
Last year I get another bill. So I ask three offices what it was for, district 80 drainage. They would not give me an answer. Only one said it was for drainage back, I think she said, about 2005. No explanation, what it was for. I paid the bill over $1,000.
Now that the state is coming up with their share, why are we not, the 90 land owners, due a refund?
What is going on in this country? The Federal government has been spending our money, now the county is going to try it.
There are enough land owners that in the next election, 90 owners that could make a difference on the Board of Supervisors. Especially the ones against refunding our money. The fair thing to do.
What happened to the word “fair.” Some want to put the money someplace else.
As for the paper work, with all the computers you keep buying, there should not be a problem. There has not been that many land owner changes.
Then we go back a ways. They put the land north of the lake in 80 drainage. It has not done one bit of good for my drainage or anyone else. It has been running into the lake, and over the dam, for 100 years. No good at all.
All they did it for was to rob Peter to pay Paul.
