Living In A Caring, Giving County

By Staff | Jan 25, 2011

To the Editor:

The Upper Des Moines Outreach staff would like to thank everyone who so generously supported us in the year 2010. There are so many of you, and we want you to know how much we appreciate all you have done.

The support of our Christmas Programs and our Food Pantry was outstanding. All of our families were very thankful for the presents they received. The children had a merrier Christmas because of your generosity. The toys, food and gift certificates, cash donations, and hats and mittens were used to help some very needy families in our county.

We also want to thank the Emmetsburg Reporter/Democrat and their staff for publishing our Christmas projects. Without their help this would not have been the success that it was. We appreciate the time and effort spent on this.

The gifts purchased from the Alco Angel Tree were very much appreciated by our elderly clients. They are always very hesitant to ask for assistance, but truly enjoyed receiving their gift. We want to thank Ryan Peck, manager at Alco, and his staff for their help in organizing this project.

We do indeed live in a very caring and giving county. Thank you again for your generous donations and support this past year. With your continued support we will give our families the encouragement that they need to empower them to self-sufficiency.

If you have any questions or concerns about outreach, please feel free to give us a call or visit us at the outreach office.
