A Mass of Christian Burial for LeAnn Dahm of Emmetsburg is Friday, March 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Bill Schreiber is the celebrant.

Interment will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday, March 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg

LeAnn Dahm, daughter of Nick and Malinda (Thilges) Huberty, was born April 16, 1937 in Whittemore. She began her education at Fairfield country school and graduated from Cylinder High School in 1956.

Following graduation LeAnn was employed at International Harvester as a bookkeeper. While working there LeAnn met Philip Dahm, who would later become her husband.

On April 28, 1962 LeAnn and Philip were united in marriage at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whittemore. They were blessed with three children.

LeAnn did child care for families in the area for several years and later went to work at S.N.C. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Emmetsburg.

LeAnn was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed gardening. She liked sitting on her deck, watching the birds, and doing jigsaw puzzles. LeAnn loved being with her family and especially keeping up on her grandchildren and their sporting events. LeAnn enjoyed traveling and looked forward to going shopping with the ladies on Black Friday.

LeAnn passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021 at her home in Emmetsburg, at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Malinda Huberty; her husband, Philip; a brother, Venoyde Huberty; and a sister, Jeannine Schneider.

She is survived by her children, Chris (Danielle) Dahm of Olympia, WA, Mike (Dawn) Dahm of Emmetsburg, and Nicole (Kent) Wegner of Emmetsburg; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Virgil Huberty of Emmetsburg, Larry (Lou Ann) Huberty of Emmetsburg, and Gary (Connie) Huberty of Emmetsburg; a sister, Rose Ann (Mike) Houliston of McGaheys-ville, VA; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
