Eldon L. Schneider
Funeral service for Eldon Schneider will be held Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Eldon Louis Schneider, son of Alvin and Phyllis (Bottger) Schneider, was born July 1, 1952 in Emmetsburg. He received his education in the Emmetsburg school system.
On Oct. 24, 1970, Eldon was united in marriage to Sandra Shaffer in Estherville. They were blessed with three children.
Eldon became known to his family and friends as “Scobe”. He was employed at Buske Manufacturing in Pocahontas as a welder for 22 years. He then went to work at Skyjack in Emmetsburg where he was employed for nine years. Scobe then worked at Fischer Hydraulics in Laurens where he remained until health issues forced him to quit.
Scobe enjoyed bowling and camping with his family. In his younger years he loved going fishing, and looked forward to pheasant hunting with Roger and Jim. He loved grilling and cooking the meals at home. He enjoyed having a good time and was always ready for a party.
Eldon passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2020 at his home in Emmetsburg at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Phyllis Schneider; sister and brothers, Gloria Schneider, Brian Schneider, William Schneider and David Schneider; and a grandchild, Rayne Schneider.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Emmetsburg; his children, Wannette and Doug Trei of Hartley, Tracy and Rick Swalve of Emmetsburg, and Chris and Sherri Schneider of Emmetsburg; nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Bob and Vickie Schneider of Mallard; a sister, Linda and Pat Flynn of Mallard; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
