Eileen K. Flint
Funeral services for Eileen K. Flint of Emmetsburg were Saturday, March 17 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. Eileen passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 75. Eileen was recuperating from a recent fall. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Eileen Kay (Kinnetz) Flint, daughter of Leo A. and Viola (Schutt) Kinnetz, was born on the family farm near Osgood, Iowa on May 30, 1942. She began her education in Walnut #6 country school and then attended Emmetsburg Community School.
On June 21, 1958, Eileen was united in marriage to Dale “Red” Flint in Emmetsburg, Iowa. To this union six daughters were born.
Eileen was employed at both Quality Caf and the Redwood Caf. She was a nurse’s assistant at the Emmetsburg Care Center and a med aid at Kathleen’s Residential Care Facility.
Eileen was a gifted seamstress, sewing for her family and friends, as well as doing sewing and alterations for the entire community. She also did upholstery work.
Eileen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and volunteered many hours at the V.F.W. Post #2295 where she sewed gun cases, helped with Bingo and provided snacks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Leo, Leonard, Derwood and Ronald Kinnetz; and her sisters, Leona Meyer, Darlene Hersom and Eleanor Meyer.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Farley of Rockford, MN, Sandy (Mark) Stanley of Storm Lake, Audrey (Dave) McCoy of Des Moines, Karen (Brian) Simington of Ashton, Jeannette “Pete” Thompson of Iowa City, Iowa and Lisa (Ron) Nelson of Spirit Lake, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; her sister, Ruth Rauhauser of Graettinger; her brother, Elmer Kinnetz of Osgood; as well as many other relatives and friends.
