James R. Lowman
A Celebration of Life for James Lowman will be held on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg.
James Robert Lowman, son of Gloal and Geraldine (Bradley) Lowman, was born Jan. 26, 1956 in Emmetsburg. He attended school in Germany, Arkansas and graduated from Emmetsburg High School.
After graduating from high school, Jim lived in Guam for sixteen years. He worked for the United States Navy in civilian security. He was a bee keeper while living in Guam. He was later employed in Forest City at a tool and die business. He then worked at Hy-Line chicken plant and most recently Walmart in Spencer. After Jim’s health began to fail, he moved to Algona where he lived at the Good Samaritan Home.
Jim passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, at the age of 61. He was preceded in death by his father, Gloal Lowman and two brothers, Michael and Mickey Lowman.
He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Lowman of Emmetsburg; two brothers, Timothy Lowman of Ruthven and Thomas Lowman and his wife, Kiko of Sierra Vista, AZ; a sister, Jean Conway and her husband, Tom of Park Rapids, MN; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Lowman of Emmetsburg; as well as many other relatives and friends.
