Shelly R. Conry 1967-2016

RUTHVEN — A Celebration of Life honoring Shelly Renee Conry of Ruthven will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven. The Rev. Peter Morlock, pastor of Lost Island Lutheran Church, Ruthven, will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ruthven.

Shelly Renee (Short) Conry, the daughter of Cynthia and Roger Hurst and Frank and Janet Short, was born on June 28, 1967 in Cherokee, and departed this life on Sunday, Feb.21, 2016 at her home, after a courageous fight with cancer.

Shelly attended school in Adair and Stuart, and graduated from Havelock-Plover High School in 1985.

On April 2, 2011, Shelly was united in marriage to her soul mate Tim Conry in Ruthven, where they made their home.

Shelly worked as an accounts receivable clerk for several years, as well as being an office assistant. Her places of employment included Southern Archery, Palo Alto County Abstract Company and, most recently, All Star Pro Golf.

Shelly enjoyed playing BINGO, golfing, spending time at the lake and motorcycle riding with her husband. Most of all Shelly enjoyed being with her family and friends as they meant the world to her and she loved them all dearly.

Shelly is preceded in death by her daughter, Courtney Conry; grandparents, Roland and Ruby Short, Bernetah Alderson, Dale and Marge Alderson and Wanda Hurst.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Tim Conry of Ruthven; her sons, Christopher Jensen (Holly and Jacob) of Ruthven, Carl Jensen of Terril, Patrick Conry of Melvin, and Harley Conry of Spencer; her parents, Cynthia and Roger Hurst of Emmetsburg, and Frank and Janet Short of Hartford; mother-in-law, Teresa Conry of Spencer; sisters, Stacy Goetz of Des Moines, Shannon Nehman of Emmetsburg, Amanda Short of Hartford, and Linsey Short of Des Moines; a special young lady, Kayla Cable; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
