Charlie A. Gentry 1929-2016
POCAHONTAS — Funeral services for Charlie Gentry of Pocahontas were held Friday, Jan. 15, at the Powers Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Pastor Joy Gonnerman officiated.
Burial was in Powhatan Cemetery near Plover. Powers Funeral Home in Pocahontas handled the arrangements.
Charles Adam Gentry was born April 13, 1929, in Des Moines. He was the son of Homer and Anna (Scha-backer) Gentry. Charlie attended school in Havelock. He farmed and lived on the farm until he moved to Pocahontas in the 1950’s.
He worked doing different jobs over the years. He enjoyed his lawn decorations, bike riding, driving his golf cart, and in later years, his scooter around town. He also enjoyed shopping at Dollar General and going to coffee.
Charlie is survived by his brother, Edward (Shirley) Gentry of Emmetsburg and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard and infant brother, Robert.
Charlie A. Gentry, 86, of Pocahontas, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas.
