Francis E. Bisenius 1927-2016

A Mass of Christian Burial for Francis “Frank”?Bisenius will be held Friday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger. Concelebrant is the Rev. Msgr. Michael Sernett.

Interment will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 15, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church in Graettinger.

Francis Edward Bisenius was born June 30, 1927 to John and Helena (Dahl- hauser) Bisenius in Whittemore. He attended Presentation Academy in Whitte- more and graduated from Emmetsburg Catholic High School.

Frank joined the United States Navy in 1944, serving in the Seabees during WWII. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan where he was very proud to serve his country. Upon his safe return to the United States, Frank was united in marriage to Rosella Murphy in 1946. The couple resided in Palo Alto County and farmed for many years. To this union nine children were born.

In 1976 the family moved to Ingham Lake. Their home was always welcome to family, friends, music, laughter and love. Frank was always very proud of his accomplishments including his career in sales with Combine Insurance, his years with Federal Crop and most importantly his family.

After the passing of his wife, Rosie in 1993, Frank continued to enjoy caring for grandchildren, playing golf, going fishing and attending mass as often as he could. Frank was very committed to daily prayer and devotions. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, V.F.W. and the Knights of Columbus.

Frank passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016 at Westview Care Center in Britt, at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Rosie; his dear son, Gary; precious great grandson, Isaac; son-in-law, Willy Weigand; his parents; four brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by eight children, Sherry (Terry) Chamberlain of Emmetsburg, Bill (Pam) Bisenius of Glendale, AZ, Patt (Dave) George of Willmar, MN, Barb (Casey) Campbell of Flagstaff, AZ, Terry (the late Willy) Weigand of Flagstaff, AZ, Deb (Kirk) Duus of Pinconning, MI, Lynn (Troy) Clabaugh of Graettinger, Mark (Chelle) Bisenius of Lost Island Lake; 19 grandchildren, Paul, Bob, Mike, Chris-Matt, Justin, Ian, Kristen, Van, Marisa, Jeremy, Will, Lacey, Nathan, Kyle, Logan, Tyler, Leah, Tate, and Evan; 25 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary of South Carolina and Lu of Maryland; one brother, Ed of Florida; as well as many other relatives and friends.
