Patricia Madsen 1941-2015
Funeral service for Patricia Madsen of Emmetsburg will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg.
Interment is in Evergreen Cemetery. The Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.
The family will greet friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Patricia Ann Madsen, daughter of Alva and Leona (Kress) Howard was born Oct. 27, 1941 in Emmetsburg, the youngest of siblings Lloyd, Alelia, Dean, Dale, Norma, Phyllis, Virginia and Sharon.
She was united in marriage to James N. Carrigan, Sr., and to this union, six children were born: Julie Carrigan of Des Moines, Pam (Mark) Meyer of Mallard, Scott (Brenda) Carrigan of Emmetsburg, Ken- neth (Pam) Carrigan of Riverton, UT, Kim Carrigan and Gary (Beth) Carrigan all of Emmetsburg. Later, Pat was united in marriage to Richard W. Madsen, and to this union, a daughter, Jennifer Lynn (Jason) Marienau of LeMars was born.
Patricia worked for many years at SNC Mfg. retiring in 2008. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and socializing with friends.
On Tuesday, Dec.15, 2015, Patricia passed away at the Spencer Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; seven children; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandsons; three sisters: Norma Buscherfeld of Whittemore, and Virginia (Virgil) Huberty and Sharon Firkins of Emmetsburg.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Lloyd, Dean and Dale Howard; two sisters: Alelia Fell and Phyllis Zeman; two grandsons: Isaac Rehm and Christian Cochran; and two great-grandsons: Kyler and Kolton Carrigan.
