Timothy R. Naig 1971-2015

Funeral service for Timothy R. Naig of Emmetsburg will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 19, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Peter Morlock will officiate.

Inurnment will be in South Walnut Cemetery, Graettinger. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.

Timothy Robert Naig, son of Michael and Betty (Westfall) Naig, was born Nov. 28, 1971 in Emmetsburg. He attended Emmetsburg Community School, graduating from high school in 1991.

Tim purchased The Office in Emmetsburg in 1997 and operated it until 2004. On April 27, 2003, Tim was united in marriage to Andrea Lunder in Las Vegas, NV. To this union two daughters were born.

Tim was later employed at Elbert Chevrolet in Whittemore as a car salesman.

Tim was a member of the Palo Alto County Snowmobile Club and loved snowmobiling. He was an avid Hawkeyes and Eagles fan. He enjoyed NASCAR and boating. But the one thing Tim loved most was spending time with his daughters, watching them play sports, attending their plays and just hanging out with them. He also loved teasing and rough housing with his nieces and nephews.

Tim passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 at his home in Emmetsburg, at the age of 43. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, LeRoy. Sr. and Charlotte Westfall; paternal grandfather, Truman Naig; maternal uncle, LeRoy Westfall, Jr; maternal aunt, Diana Kassel; and his brother, Scott Naig.

He is survived by his daughters, Breanna Michelle Naig and Brooklin Kylee Naig both of New Prague, MN; his parents, Mike and Betty Naig of Emmetsburg; his brother, Christopher Naig and his wife, Monica and their children, Aamon, Eli and Izza; his sisters, Michelle Theesfeld and her husband, Dan and their children, Bayleigh, Mica, and Maysen, and Lisa Naig; sister-in-law, Erin Naig and her children, Hailey and Hunter; paternal grandparents, Dale and Marjorie Jensen; maternal aunt, Linda and Dan Umbrell, Sr.; paternal aunts, Gloria and Jim Wiener, Sue and Dar Wilson and Deb and Howard Gaster; many cousins; as well as many other relatives and friends.
