Jul 21, 2015

A celebration of life service for Fredrick Goff, 75, of Fenton was held Saturday, July 18, at the United Methodist Church in Fenton. The Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge of arrangements.

Fredrick Allen Goff was born Aug. 8, 1939 in Bruce, WI, the son of Herbert and Grace (Atwood) Goff. He was a graduate of Bruce High School. Following his education, he joined the United States Navy.

On Aug. 20, 1960, Fred was united in marriage to Sharon Delano in Bruce, WI. The couple lived in California before returning to Bruce where Fred managed Furatell Mfg. for nearly 20 years. Following his retirement in 1986, Fred and Sharon bought a resort near Red Lake, Ontario, Canada. They owned and operated the resort for 10 years before their second retirement in 1996. The couple has been dual citizens of Iowa and Canada, and they enjoyed spending time in both places.

Fred was a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church and the Ranny-Weisbrod American Legion Post #627 of Fenton. Fred was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, boating, camping, four wheeling and snowmobiling. He liked to travel, and he was a faithful Green Bay Packer fan and shareholder. Most of all, Fred treasured every moment he spent and every memory he made with all of his family.

On Monday, July 13, 2015, Fred passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
