Irene Anderson 1920-2013
GRAETTINGER — Funeral service for Irene Anderson of Wallingford will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at the United Methodist Church in Graettinger. Pastor Mike Shaffer will officiate.
Interment will be in High Lake Township Cemetery, Wallingford. The Henry-Olson Funeral Home in Graettinger is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at United Methodist Church in Graettinger.
Lydia Irene (Lundgren) Anderson, the daughter of Albert and Ellen (Hag-strom) Lundgren, was born June 15, 1920, in Ayrshire. She passed away Sunday, Dec.16, 2012, at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, at the age of 92.
She received her education in country schools and Graettinger.
On June 15, 1943, Irene was united in marriage to Wesley Anderson. The couple made their home and raised their family in the Ingham Lake and High Lake area since 1944. Irene, along with being a homemaker, was employed in a cafe in Graettinger. She was also employed at several grocery stores; McAdams Clothings and Hubacher Hardware, all in Estherville. Wesley died Oct. 6, 2008.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Graettinger and also belonged to the Good Samaritan Center Auxiliary in Estherville.
Left to cherish Irene’s memory are her three children: Wayne Anderson and his wife, Karen of Graettinger, Ramona Fleck and her husband, Austin “Bud” of Spencer and Joyce Brown and her husband, Tyrone of Kingwood, TX; grandchildren: Brad and Shawna Anderson, Brent and Penny Anderson, Kent DeBerg; Kevin DeBerg, Koreen DeBerg, Danielle (Brown) and Scott Hancock, and Daylon Brown; great-grandchildren: Olivia and Isabella, Lydia, Kasey, Bryce, Brandon and Ryan, and Zachery; and her brother, Glenn.
Preceding Irene in death were her husband; parents and siblings, Rolfe, Roy, Chester, Ellis, Bob, Vera, Marie, Vivian and Ruby.
