Mildred Lehman 1912-2013
Funeral service for Mildred L. Lehman of Emmetsburg was held Sunday, Feb. 3, at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Daryl Aaron officiated.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mildred Louise Lehman, daughter of Joseph and Myrtle Stonebraker, was born April 15, 1912, in Iowa Falls. Following graduation from Iowa Falls High School, Mildred was employed at Swift and Company. She was united in marriage to Joseph George Lehman in Iowa Falls. To this union three daughters were born.
Mildred and Joe moved to Rolfe where they owned and operated a produce business. They ran their business until the late 1970s when they retired and moved to Emmetsburg.
Mildred was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg, where she was active in church circle and church choir. She also played piano regularly at PARC Hall.
Mildred made her home at Willow Ridge for several years before moving to Lakeside Lutheran Home in 2010. She passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at the age of 100 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Mary Fisher; brothers, Everett and Arnold Stonebraker; and sisters, Gerre Coulson and Irene Wagaman.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Daryl) Aaron of Mounds View, MN and Carol (William) Mints of Lynn Haven, FL; son-in-law, Dean Fisher of Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
