Joseph B. Kliegl 1957-2012

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph B. Kliegl of Emmetsburg was Saturday, April 28, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. Celebrant was the Rev. Clem Currans.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Ruthven. The Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Brennan Kliegl was born Oct. 29, 1957, in Emmetsburg, the son of Warren and Bernadette (Brennan) Kliegl, Joe graduated from Emmetsburg High School and he attended Iowa Lakes Community College. Following his education, Joe began working for GTE (Windstream) in Emmetsburg. He retired in 2010 after over 30 years of dedicated service.

Joe was an avid sports enthusiast with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed competing on the softball diamond, playing cards, bowling and watching football with countless friends and family members over the years. He was always surrounded by friends and family. Joe loved them all dearly and always looked forward to being with them.

On Wednesday, April 25, 2012, Joe passed away at his home in Emmetsburg.

Left to cherish his memories are his sister, Bernadette Joyce (Larry); five brothers, Jim Kliegl (Chris), Pat Kliegl (Kathy), Terry Kliegl (Jeannie), Mike Kliegl, and Frank Kliegl (Donna); 15 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mary Jo Kliegl.
