Mary Mills 1952-2011
Funeral service for Mary Mills of Emmetsburg was held Friday, May 20, at the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. David A. Morris officiated. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge.
Mary Mills was born to Albert Myrick and Ageline Brocatt on Aug. 7, 1952 in Siloam Springs, AR. She had no siblings.
She was united in marriage to Richard Mills. Richard and Mary resided in Texas until moving to Estherville in June of 2000. Mary came to Horizons Unlimited in May 2003.
Mary resided at Palmer Street Group Home. She always had a smile on her face and talked with a thick southern accent. She enjoyed going uptown, watching “Days of Our Lives” and spending time with her friends at the group home. Mary loved the movie, “Hannah Montana” and collected anything to do with Hannah Montana. Mary looked forward to her visits with her husband, Richard. She enjoyed shopping and collecting treasures to add to her purse.
Mary worked at Horizons Unlimited and was dedicated to her job of shredding. Mary also attended Project Learning at Iowa Lakes Community College. She enjoyed being in in the kitchen, using the computer, and attending group with her peers.
Mary passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City at the age of 58. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Mills, of Emmetsburg and her family at Horizons Unlimited.
