Mildred A. Kunz 1922-2011

Funeral service for Mildred A. Kunz of Emmetsburg was Saturday, April 9, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Clem Currans was the Celebrant.

Burial was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Anzeline Kunz, daughter of Vance G. and Mabel R. (Bahls) Gile, was born Oct. 13, 1922 in Emmetsburg. She received her education in Ruthven.

On Oct. 12, 1938 Mildred was united in marriage to Charles A. Kunz in Sioux City.

Mildred was employed as a nurse’s aid at area nursing homes. Mildred was a member of Holy Family Parish in Emmetsburg and the Nevada Neighbors Club.

Mildred passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, at age 88.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Phoebe Mason, Elsie Kurtz, and Wilma Lamberts; brothers, Wendell Gile, Weldon Gile and Willard Gile.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Kunz (Carol) of Papillion, NE, Dan Kunz (Chris) of Des Moines, Dave Kunz of Emmetsburg and Paul Kunz (Pam) of Moorcroff, WY; 13 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Charles Gile of Everson, WA, Wayne Gile of Auburn, WA, Leland Gile of Woodland, CA, Harold Gile of Lynnwood, WA and Wallace Gile of Poulsbo, WA; a sister, Shirley Simonson of Everson, WA; and many nieces and nephews.
