Reggie Lee Sidles 1957-2011

Funeral service for Reggie Sidles of Emmetsburg is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. Pastor Judy DePue will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg.

Visitation is Friday, Feb. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg.

Reggie Lee Sidles, son of Donald and Alice (Hoffmeyer) Sidles, was born Jan. 8, 1957, in Emmetsburg. He received his education at Emmetsburg High School.

Reggie worked construction with his grandfather, building homes in the area. and later worked for Mullen Construction. He also helped his father, Don, with Sidles Wrecker Service. Reggie always had to stay busy and loved helping others. He did farm work for area farmers and helped at Pat’s Auto. Reggie had been employed at A.S.I., constructing farm bins and had worked at Kerber Milling for the past five years.

On Sept. 28, 2001, Reggie was united in marriage to Deb King in Emmetsburg.

He was a member of IMCA Racing. Reggie enjoyed racing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren.

Reggie passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at his home in Emmetsburg at the age of 54.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Donald and Alice; his mother-in-law, Shirley King; and a grandson, Matthew.

Reggie is survived by his wife, Deb of Emmetsburg; his son, Teddy Schrieber of Peterson; step-children, Tim King and his wife, Christina of Emmetsburg, Angi King and friend, Kevin Fothergill of Armstrong; seven grandchildren, Alexis King, Marissa King, Isabelle King, Logan King, Bryson King, Trenton Fothergill and Teagon Fothergill; brothers, Jon Sidles of Windom, MN, Ramon Sidles of Emmetsburg and Jay Sidles and his wife, Laura of Emmetsburg; niece and nephews, Drew Sidles, Jacob Sidles and Kyle Sidles; great nephew, Karson Sidles.
