Emilie M. Clark 1918-2011

A Mass of Christian Burial for Emilie Clark, 92, of Pocahontas, and formerly of Mallard, will be 11a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mallard. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, Pocahontas.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church in Mallard on Thursday.

Emilie Marie Kruml was born Dec. 14, 1918 in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Joe and Rose (Klocek) Kruml. She attended Rolfe High School, and she was a 1936 graduate of Havelock High School. Emilie worked for Mitchell Grocery in Pocahontas for ten years.

In 1943, Emilie was united in marriage to Norman D. Clark at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mallard. The couple made their home on a farm near Mallard.

Emilie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Christian Mother’s Club. She loved to play cards, and spend time with friends and family.

On Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, Emilie passed away at the Pocahontas Community Hospital.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Ann Grethen and husband, David of Mallard; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman, in June of 1966; and her brother, Ernest Kruml.
