Betty J. Guinn 1934-2010

Former Emmetsburg resident Betty Guinn of Spencer passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, in Spencer. She was 75.

Funeral service for Betty Guinn is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Tom Geelan will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge.

Visitation is today, Thursday, Dec. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home. Parish Vigil Service is at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty J. Guinn, daughter of Charles C. and Elizabeth L. (Crawmer) Krieg, was born Oct. 16, 1934, northeast of Mallard. She attended country school south of her home and then completed her education at Mallard High School.

Betty was united in marriage to Dean Guinn.

Betty was employed most of her working years in the restaurant business. She was also a devoted homemaker. Betty was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer and enjoyed singing in the church choir.

Surviving are two brothers, Marvin Krieg (Juanita) of Des Moines and Roger Krieg (Shirley)?of Ruthven; a sister, Karen Boeckholt (Russell) of Gerber, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Guinn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Krieg; and a sister, Vivian Krieg.
