Oliver T. Nock 1920-2010

Funeral service for Oliver T. Nock of Emmetsburg is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Clem Currans will officiate.

Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. and a Parish Vigil Service begins at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Nock, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at PARC?Hall in Emmetsburg.

Oliver T. Nock, son of Oliver T. and Theresa (Gillman)?Nock, was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Emmetsburg. He received his education in country schools near Emmetsburg.

On Jan. 14, 1943, Ted Nock and Madgell Conway were married.

Ted farmed near Emmetsburg for many years. He loved farming and caring for his horses.

Ted was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his children, Larry Nock of Emmetsburg, John (Linda)?Nock of Rochester, MN, Ted Nock of Armstrong, Linda (Bill)?Jepsen of Boone, Barb (John) Casebolt of Clive, Mary Murdock of Tempe, AZ, and Mike Nock of Fairmont, MN; 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Also surviving is a sister, Dorothy Thomas of Mesa, AZ.

Mr. Nock was preceded in death by his parents, O.T. and Theresa Nock; and his wife, Madgell.
