Evelyn M. (Wood) Boyer of San Diego, CA., went to be with her Lord on Aug. 12, 2010, with six of her children at her bedside.

Since Evelyn’s mother died at an early age, she took responsibility for her younger siblings until Ralph remarried.

On Nov. 26, 1942, Evelyn was united in marriage with Ernie Simon Boyer at the Ralph Wood farm. To this union, seven children were born. She was a seamstress, making clothing for her family, embroidering and making beaded necklaces.

They farmed in Iowa until 1966 when they moved to National City, CA. They enjoyed traveling in their motor home to see their children, brothers, sisters and friends.

Evelyn was expecially fond of and proudly wore her Iowa T-Shirts and sweatshirts. She was quick to let others know that Iowa was where she lived before she moved to California.
