Bonnie Juhl 1927-2010
Funeral service for Bonnie Juhl, 83 of Spencer and formerly of Emmetsburg, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the Holy Family Parish Center in Emmetsburg. Burial is in North St. John’s Cemetery near Cylinder.
The family will greet friends from 4 to 7p.m. today, Tuesday, at the Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. A vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Pauline LaVonne “Bonnie” Juhl was born Feb. 18, 1927 in Graettinger, the daughter of Roy and Josephine (O’Neil) Sloniker. She attended Graettinger Schools, graduating in 1944.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Ulrick “Bud” Juhl, Jr. on June 22, 1947 in Graettinger. Bonnie was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, golfing, playing cards and trips to the casino. Most of all, Bonnie loved to spend time with her family and friends.
On Saturday, June 19, 2010, Bonnie passed away at her home in Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; and her sister, Dorothy Howard.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Marcia Schiltz (Richard) of Sisseton, SD, and Donna Weig (Wayne) of Leola, SD; three sons, Brian of Reno, NV, Bruce (Teresa) of Mesa, AZ and Steve (Angie) of Shakopee, MN; ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
