Pauline M. Black 1909-2010
ROCKWELL CITY – Pauline M. Black, 100, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 at Sunny Knoll Care Centre.
Her wishes were to be cremated. Graveside services will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, Ft. Dodge. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City, is serving the family.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Brown and William Black; daughter Genevieve “Jan” Brown Jackson; son-in-law Wayne “Crow” Jackson; her parents, Cornelius (Carl) and Elizabeth Heinze Walters; eight sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Karry Hiler Flaherty of Mt. Pleasant, Jenny Lohff Schossow of Rockwell City, and Wayne “Lee” Jackson II of Edmond, OK; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Kathryn Caldwell of Minneapolis, MN; and brothers, Thomas Walters of Ft. Dodge, and Jake Walters of Fairmont, MN.
Pauline Margaret Walters was born April 1, 1909 at Surrodlph, Russia. She was united in marriage to Ralph Brown, and he later died in Chicago. She then married William Black, and he died in 1968. Pauline had worked at Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric Co. for over 30 years before retiring at the age of 73.
