Lucille F. Wirtz 1919-2010

MALLARD — Lucille F. Wirtz of Mallard died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg. She was 90.

Funeral service for Mrs. Wirtz was Monday,?Jan. 11, at the Apostolic Christian Church in West Bend. Burial was in the church cemetery. Harris Funeral Home of West Bend was in charge of arrangements.

Lucille Frances Wirtz was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Spencer, the daughter of Emil and Marie (Bleuer)?Bredlau. She was raised and received her education in Wisconsin, attending country school there.

On Nov. 24, 1942, Lucille and Edwin “Tubby”?Wirtz were married. The couple lived and farmed in the Rodman area until 1961 when they moved to their farm in Mallard. After retiring in 1977, the couple moved to town in Mallard.

Lucille worked for nine years as a cook for the Mallard school system. She attended the Apostolic Christian Church of West Bend and was a member of the “Sunshine Club” in Mallard.

Survivors include her three children: Ronald (Carol)?Wirtz of Emmetsburg, Keith (Sandy)?Wirtz of Mallard and Pamela (Virg)?Lyon of Boone; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.

Also surviving are brothers and a sister:?Robert (Marcie) Bredlau of Owen, WI, Pat (Shirley)?Bredlau of Madison, WI, Jerry (Janet) Bredlau of Marshfield, WI, John (Elaine)?Bredlau of Manistique, MI, and Arlene Barker of Marshfield, WI.

Mrs. Wirtz was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin, in 1998; granddaughter, Jeanna; and sisters, Emily, Esther and Dorothy.
