Betty A. Harding 1936-2009

Funeral service for Betty A. Harding of Emmetsburg was Wednesday, July 8, at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. The Rev. David Biddle, pastor of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, presided.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg.

Mrs. Harding died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg. She was 73.

Betty Ann Harding, daughter of Sherman and Opal (Taylor)?Daniels, was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Illinois. She received her education in Illinois schools.

On Sept. 13, 1952, Betty and Donald Harding were married in Roseville, IL. Betty was employed at the Chateau Restaurant in Pocahontas and later worked as a CNA at Pocahontas Manor. Betty also volunteered at Upper Des Moines Outreach in Emmetsburg.

Betty helped establish Share Iowa in Palo Alto County. She was also active in R.S.V.P.

Surviving are her children:?Richard Harding of Emmetsburg, Debra Harding of Des Moines, Carol Harding of Emmetsburg, Donna (Paul) Dorweiler of Rolfe, Robert (Brenda)?Harding of Graettinger and Sheryl Harding of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and a sister, Ida Mae (Harvey)?Gipson of Horse Cave, KY.

Mrs. Harding was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, Jackie Harding; a brother, Elmer Daniels; and a sister, Beulah Smith.
