Bruce L. Ruehle 1927-2008
RUTHVEN — Funeral service for Bruce Ruehle of Ruthven is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven. The Rev. Luther Thoresen will officiate.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ruthven. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home, Ruthven, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is today, Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Ruthven.
Mr. Ruehle died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. He was 81.
Bruce Lee Ruehle, son of Clarence “Hi” and Lulu (Bigelow) Ruehle, was born July 16, 1927, in Gillett, WI. He attended Lake Center School and graduated in 1944. Bruce served in the U.S. Navy in the Seabees during World War II.
On Oct. 20, 1947, Bruce Ruehle and Jean Smith were married. The couple farmed for over 50 years, involving grain farming and livestock.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, of Ruthven; children: David (Marilyn) Ruehle of Graettinger, Gary Ruehle of Ruthven, Mike (Kerry) Ruehle of Sioux City, Dean (Mary) Ruehle of London, England, and Bob (Leanne) Ruehle of Loveland, CO; 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Eugene (Shirley) Ruehle of White Bear Lake, MN and Gerald (Kay) Ruehle of Ruthven; and two sisters, Phyllis Peterson and friend Cliff Harris of Ruthven, and Janice (Terry) Menefee of Milford.
